made.com - The ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art) Gala Party, with made.com

Good Afternoon,

Today, I'm blogging about our upcoming ICA Gala Party auction event, especially for all you art buffs...

made.com has donated a selection of popular pieces (Piggy Bags, Arche Lamps, Champion Pro Football Tables and Hollander Bikes) from the site, to a number of well-renowned artists. Over the last few weeks, these artists have redesigned and generally worked their magic on these products, resulting in a range of masterpieces exclusively recreated for the ICA. A preview exhibition of the pieces is open to all from March 23rd - 27th at the ICA. They will go up for final auction on March 29th, where contributions will go towards the ICA's annual fundraising activities.

made.com artists are as follows-

Bikes Ai Weiwei, Damien Hirst, Gary Hume

Football Tables Jake and Dinos Chapman, Alison Jackson

Arche Lamps Liliane Lijn, Alison Jackson, Alastair Mackinven, Haroon Mirza, Jack Strange, Mark Titchner, John Russell, Charles Avery, Karin Ruggaber, Nicholas Byrne, Phillip Allen, Toby Ziegler, Gary Webb

Piggy Bags Alice Channer, Hannah Sawtell, Jessica Warboys, Anna Barham

The auctioning event starts at 9pm. This will be followed by various artistic performances and interventions as well as film showings, 'tasty treats' and 'dramatic drinks'.

The dress code is 'Psychedelic Spin' and tickets are priced at £95 per person. These may be purchased on www.ica.org.uk. Carriages will be at 1am.

Wow, a bike by Damien Hirst… Congratulations Made! It looks like there was some paint left over after the A1 project! That’s a pity you didn’t ask him to customize the bike just after he created the diamond skull... The auction would have been more interesting financially!

Ai Weiwei : you should make the artist pay you for wasting a good bike the other two bikes were cool
Gary Webb could do with another term at art school
