What is the height from the ground to the shelf? Could it be used as an occasional desk?

The height from the ground to the shelf is 82cm. The chest has been designed so that it can be used as a desk, the desk could not support heavy weight, but would be ideal for use with a laptop.

I love the style of the Bourbon Bureau, but not in the blue - is it available in other colours or would I be able to paint it myself?

All of our products only come in the colours you see on our website, you are more than welcome to re-paint the bureau if you would prefer, but please be aware if you do then you will be unable to return it in the future under any circumstances as it would not be as sold.
