Would it be possible to replace the sleigh legs with other legs that i would source (either wood or metal) to make it taller.

The legs can be easily removed, and if you wished to replace them with some made by a local carpenter to make the unit taller then this should be no problem at all.

Will this hold a 40 inch TV?

The dimensions of the Sideboard are L155cm x D50cm x H66cm. A 40 inch plasma TV would comfortably fit on top and would be well supported by the structure of the unit.

How much assembly is required?

There is very little assembly needed for the sideboard. The handles and feet will need to be put on, but that is the extent of it.
