How to transform your workspace from bland box, to inspiring hub? It's not easy when you work in a shared office. But help is at hand. We asked Maxime Brenon, co-founder of out-of-the-ordinary stationery brand, Papier Tigre, for his tips. With stylish stores in Paris and Tokyo, he's a pro at curating spaces that feel creative, motivating and organised. Let's get to work.
2. Colours have a real impact – especially in a creative environment. They have the power to make you and your team feel stimulated and energised. Not sure your boss will agree to painting the walls? Then decorate your desk with personal touches, like quirky postcards and objects picked up on your travels.
3. Opt for an arty, sculptural desk lamp. It’ll shine a new, softer light on a dull-looking shelf (or that scary pile of outstanding invoices!).
4. Sit next to an empty wall? Brighten it up with posters, illustrations, or an oversized clock.
5. You want your space to feel open and airy - it’ll keep communication going between the teams. How? Swap heavy partitions for translucent storage boxes and openwork magazine racks.
