Are you summer garden ready?

Hands up, who can’t wait for summer? Long sunny days spent lounging outside with a cold drink in hand and all the fresh air you can handle. It’s the dream. Make your garden look as good as it feels with these gorgeous outdoor trends.

Summer Punk

Summer’s bright. Your garden should be, too. Summer Punk is all about clashing colours, interesting shapes, and urban vibes. Using on-trend materials and influences from street art, this is a fresh take on outdoor furniture.

It’s THE material of 2018. According to Pinterest’s annual report at the start of the year, “there’s been a 48% increase in people saving terrazzo on their boards.”

Punked Up

Terrazzo was huge in the 70s and it’s making a come back. But MADE.COM is adding a punked element to it: “Terrazzo is often really muted. Ours is punchy,” says MADE designer Ali Edwards. “It’s terrazzo but with really bold colours.”

How it’s made

Terrazzo is made with recycled pieces of glass. The green glass in our terrazzo is from old Heineken bottles so having these pieces in your garden won’t just look good, they’ll be completing the circle of life for those garden bevvies, too.

Bright and wonderful

Black metal’s all well and good but for this summer, we’re going pop… of colour, that is. With everything from designer pieces to accessories, you can brighten up your space in no time. And we’re not just sticking to metal either. Look forward to your outdoor space being bright all summer.

James Burgess

MADE collaborator, James Burgess, has designed many of our favourites including the Stanley accent chair and the Zoom light. Now, he’s taken it outside and designed Tega - a vivid dining set that’ll turn heads. Using a scribble design in powder coated metal, James created an uber-cool hand-drawn effect.

The clash

Talk about punk. Along with introducing bright and primary colours, try mixing it up. Along with terrazzo, woven furniture is a great way to introduce contrasting colours.

Everyone loves an accent

If going full-on bold gives you the anx, then dip your toe in the water with some accessories. Brightly coloured pots, tableware and textiles will liven up your garden and channel Summer Punk.

Nordic Safari

Taking all of the elegant, simple design elements you associate with Nordic trends and giving them a jungle vibe, Nordic Safari is a great way to update your outdoor space with timeless style.

Watch your tone

A key element of the Nordic Safari trend is the tonal colour palette. Think sandy, muted colours that evoke images of jungle camping.

Clean lines

Use the quintessential clean lines of Nordic design and add woven detailing to create an urban jungle style that’ll make your space effortlessly cool.

Go wild

Terracotta and concrete detailing is a great way to introduce that jungle colour palette. And while you’re at it, attract the local wildlife with some bird houses.

Modern Global

Inspired by the colours and details of Middle Eastern design, the Modern Global trend is a great way to add a bit of spice to your outdoor space. Big, bold, beautiful designs that are made to stand out.

Be-weave it

Update that Modern Global woven detailing with more intricate designs and colours that’ll make a statement without losing its cool.

Tie it together

The best way to bring colour themes and texture trends together to form a cohesive look is by using accessories. Think hurricane lanterns, planters and terrariums.
