These colours will uplift your mood

These colours will uplift your mood

It’s January. Maybe you're obsessing over unrealistic New Year’s resolutions. Or pondering the distant memory of Christmas. Relatable? Well, the January blues are a given. But there’s multicoloured hope on the horizon: the hues we use at home can improve our mood. Danielle, MADE’s PR Manager for the Netherlands, says colour can transform the energy of your entire interior: “Colour is truly amazing. Pantone’s Living Coral for instance, is known to bring comfort and hopefulness. And if you're suffering from insomnia? Opt for soft pink in the bedroom to help you relax.” Her colour predictions for 2019? “It’s all about neutral base shades like beige and dusky olive to feel grounded. And I’m obsessed with green, the colour of balance. It's so restorative.”

“Contrast calm muted tones with bright accents for energising effects. Think retro orange and rust red for optimism, confidence and excitement. Yellow is known for boosting both your memory and your mood."
